Trabectedin Plus Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin in Recurrent Ovarian Cancer
Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:28PM Ovarian cancer remains the second-most lethal gynecologic malignancy after cervical cancer, with approximately 125,000 deaths annually worldwide. Primary therapy for advanced disease includes maximal surgical debulking followed by platinum/taxane chemotherapy. Despite approximately 80% response rates to primary therapy, most women eventually suffer recurrent disease and die.
In a new study published in the June issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the combination of Trabectedin plus pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (Doxil) proves to be effective in recurrent ovarian cancer.
